An Aiken man reported waking up and finding a stranger in his home early on Tuesday morning, according to the Aiken Department of Public Safety.
The incident was reported at about 2:45 a.m. on Tuesday at an apartment complex on Greengate Circle. No injuries were reported.
The resident reported that he was awakened by a noise that sounded like the front door opening. He then found who he believed to be a man in his living room. The subject exited through a sliding glass door and fled towards the woods, the report read.
The Aiken County bloodhound unit was called to the scene but the subject was not located.
Investigators noticed fresh scratch marks on the doorjamb and door, the report read.
