Police are investigating two incidents of reported gunfire on Tuesday afternoon.
The first incident was reported about 3:30 p.m. on Bradby Lane, according to a report from the Aiken Department of Public Safety.
Witnesses reported hearing eight to 10 gunshots, possibly from two different guns.
One woman said she believed a bullet struck her apartment, the report stated.
Officers located a “strife mark” going through the front screen door and into the wooden door. The projectile fragmented into very small pieces that were not recoverable, according to the report. No one was injured during the incident.
The second incident was reported about 8:50 p.m. on Brown Lane, according to a report.
A witness told police the incident stemmed from a verbal disagreement between several people earlier in the day.
Officers searched the area but were unable to find any evidence of gunshots. No injuries were reported from that incident.
