A Graniteville man was detained for criminal domestic violence after he allegedly bashed his wife’s head into the window of a vehicle while she was driving, according to the Aiken County Sheriff’s Office.
Jeffrey Dean Martin, 31, of Springdale Road, was placed in the Aiken County detention center, where he remained on Thursday afternoon.
The incident happened about 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, according to a sheriff’s report. The victim said she and Martin were arguing while she drove on Trolly Line Road when Martin “bashed” her head into the driver’s side window.
Martin grabbed the wheel from the victim several times while she was driving, the report stated. She then drove to the Sheriff’s Office. Officers observed redness and swelling on the face of the victim, who was sobbing and shaking.
She said she couldn’t drive any further due to being afraid of Martin, the report stated. Martin was taken into custody at the scene.
