USC Aiken Pacer golf finishes sixth in Fla.

LAKELAND, Fla. ó The No. 2 USC Aiken menís golf team placed sixth in the 33rd Annual Matlock Invitational, which wrapped up Tuesday afternoon.

The event took place at the Lone Palm Golf Club, which is a par-72 course that spans 7,065 yards.

The Pacers concluded their spring opener with a 14-over par score, 878. After opening the tournament with a 290, head coach Mike Carlisleís team finished the first day with a 295 before rebounding over the final 18 holes with a 293.

Leading the way for USCA was Brandon Robinson-Thompson, who finished the tournament with a 215, 1-under par score.

He shot an opening-round one-under par and then finished the final 36 holes in even par.

Hayden Letien tied for 22nd after posting a 4-over par score. He opened the tournament with a two-under par, but finished with a 74-76 over the final two rounds for his 220.

Stephane Boudreau placed 35th in the event after shooting 6-over par. His score of 222 was tallied by posting a 77 before coming home with a 74-71.

Gaines Milliner was just one stroke back of Boudreau with his 7-over par. He scored a 223 for the event after notching a 73-76-74.

Kyle Godsman rounded out the USCA contingent in a tie for 47th. He posted a score of 227, which was 11-over par. His scores were 76-75-76.

Lynn (-12), Barry (-6), Armstrong (-1), Nova Southeastern (-1) and Florida Tech (+13) rounded out the top five at the event.

The Pacers return to action next week at the Wexford Plantation Intercollegiate Feb. 17-18.
