Breanna Hightower's layup in the final seconds lifted North Augusta (9-9, 4-0 Region 5-AAAA) to a 48-46 win over Dutch Fork.
Mallory Stone was the leading scorer for the Jackets with 15 points. Cydney Matthews scored 14, including 10 of the team's 14 third-quarter points. Ja'Lyn Sanders pitched in 13. North Augusta will travel to Lexington today to make up Wednesday's postponed game.
Silver Bluff 53 Wade Hampton 45
Ashanti Brown scored 25 points for the Bulldogs as they moved to 6-0 in Region 5-AA play with a 53-45 victory over Wade Hampton.
Kippen Wallace was close to another double-double. She scored 10 points and grabbed nine rebounds.
Silver Bluff (9-5, 6-0 Region 5-AA) will take on Edisto on Tuesday.
Wagener-Salley 44 North 31
Wagener-Salley improved to 13-6 overall and 7-1 in region play with a 44-32 win over North. Ta'Nauziah Corley scored 21, Mya Landy scored nine and Morgan Foster had seven. The War Eagles will play Williston-Elko Monday.
Midland Valley 39
Midland Valley (7-12, 3-2 Region 5-AAA) moved above the .500 mark in region play with the home win.
Christen Dunbar and Kiera Blocker each had 12 points for the Mustangs, who will host Strom Thurmond today at 6 p.m. in a game that was originally scheduled earlier in the week but was postponed.
Thomas Sumter 48 South Aiken Baptist 15
The South Aiken Baptist girls' basketball team fell to Thomas Sumter on Friday night. Katie Minichan scored 10 points for the Crusaders in the 48-15 loss.
North Augusta 65 Dutch Fork 55
Chandler Harrison scored 18 points and Christian Davis posted 14 for North Augusta (14-4), who topped Dutch Fork 65-55.
Malik Dunbar and Victor Johnson each scored 10 points in the game. North Augusta will play Lexington today.
Fox Creek 55 HKT 48
Fox Creek (15-4, 8-0 Region 4-A) remained unbeaten in region play after a 55-48 win over HKT on Friday.
The Predators were led by Marques Sumner with 19 points. Brandyn Quiller scored 15 and Corrin Cannon finished the night with 10.
Fox Creek will welcome Ridge Spring-Monetta on Tuesday.
Silver Bluff 52 Wade Hampton 33
Silver Bluff (5-9, 3-3 Region 5-AA) got strong performances from Jaylen Lawrence and Gyasi Yeldell en route to a 52-33 victory over Wade Hampton.
Yeldell finished with a double-double on the night. He scored 17 points and grabbed 11 rebounds. Lawrence was the leading scorer for the Bulldogs. He ended the night with 19 points.
Wagener-Salley 63 North 45
Wagener-Salley (10-9, 3-5 Region 4-A) got a needed region win behind a 21-point, eight-steal effort by Malcolm Stroman.
Tydavion Pough had 15 points and six rebounds, and RJ Tyler chipped in 10 points and eight boards.
The War Eagles will host Williston-Elko on Monday night.
South Aiken Baptist 56 Thomas Sumter 53
The South Aiken Baptist boys' basketball team pulled out a 56-53 victory over Thomas Sumter on Friday night.
Joshua Metzger scored 19 points, and he also got his teammates involved with his eight assists. Caleb Bishop finished with 16, and Joseph Kass had 15 points and 10 rebounds.
The Crusaders will take on Holly Hill today.
