Wagener-Salley (8-4) picked up a tournament title in the Hawks Classic at Blackville-Hilda High School with a victory over the hosts on Saturday.
Senior guard Malcolm Stroman led the War Eagles with 22 points, and RJ Tyler chipped in 17. Kyiian Miller wasn’t far behind with 14 points for Wagener-Salley, which hits the road to play Brookland-Cayce on Friday.
Ridge Spring-Monetta 66
Ridge Spring-Monetta (1-6) used a balanced effort to take home its first win of the season and collect fifth place in the Hawks Classic at Blackville-Hilda.
Marquis Hopkins led the Trojans with nine points, and Joshua Ware, Ralfael Leaphart, Bobby Pixley and Raquan Parris had eight points each. The Trojans will next host Pelion on Friday.
Ridge View 49
Aiken (7-4) took home third place in the C. Dan Joyner Poinsetta Classic in Greenville with the win over Ridge View.
Dramel Coleman scored 20 points to lead the way for the Hornets and was named all-tournament, while Deon Hicks added 10 points and won one of several $1,000 scholarships for an essay he wrote prior to the tournament.
Aiken will be back in action Friday at Strom Thurmond.
North Augusta 58
North Augusta (9-3) finished strong for fifth place in the Lake Marion Tournament with a blowout win.
Christian Davis led the Jackets with 22 points, followed by Malik Dunbar with 17. Chandler Harrison rounded out the double-digit scorers with 10 points.
The Jackets will hit the court again on Saturday at Cross Creek (Ga.).
South Aiken 62
South Aiken (4-4) closed the River Bluff Classic with a win over Batesburg-Leesville to get back to the .500 mark.
Kingsley Priester led the T-Breds with 17 points, and Latrell Brown and Zelair Knowles had 11 points each. South Aiken will host Greenbrier (Ga.) on Friday.
North Augusta 61
Lake Marion 29
North Augusta (5-8) picked up a third-place in the Lake Marion Invitational with an emphatic win over the tournament’s hosts.
Mallory Stone showed she is rounding back into form after a knee injury with a 20-point performance, and Ja’Lyn Sanders added 15. Alexus Williams had 11 points for the Jackets.
North Augusta will next play Cross Creek (Ga.) on Saturday.
