NEWBERRY (AP) — Authorities in Newberry County are investigating the death of a woman found over the weekend.
Sheriff Lee Foster said friends found the body of 66-year-old Andrenna Butler on Saturday night on the floor of her home.
Investigators said Butler lived alone and was estranged from her husband of more than 50 years. There were no signs of forced entry, no signs of theft and the alarm system was not armed.
A small amount of blood was found near Butler, who was lying near a door.
Authorities are still working to determine how Butler died. The S.C. State Law Enforcement Division is helping the sheriff’s department investigate.
