According to reports provided by the Aiken Department of Public Safety:
A 32-year-old Aiken woman was detained for shoplifting on Wednesday after putting two pairs of jeans in her baby’s diaper bag and handing the bag to her 7-year-old daughter. While trying to exit the store in Aiken Mall, the woman saw a security guard and tried to remove the pants from the bag.
A 17-year-old high school student was detained for disorderly conduct on Thursday after creating a disturbance in the hallway of the school after confronting an assistant principal and school resource officer about why his car was searched.
A 44-year-old Florence man was detained for DUI on Friday after he was pulled over on Silver Bluff Road for swerving in his lane. The man was taken into custody after failing multiple field sobriety tests.
Two unknown men took five pairs of jeans from a store without paying in Aiken Mall on Thursday.
A trailer, two mini bikes, a pressure washer and lawn maintenance equipment were reported stolen from a store on Whiskey Road on Wednesday.
An unknown woman took a pair of shoes from a store without paying on Richland Avenue on Wednesday.
According to reports provided by the Aiken County Sheriff’s Office:
A 64-year-old Bath man was detained for DUI on Thursday after being pulled over on Augusta Road for driving erratically. The man smelled strongly of alcohol and was taken into custody after failing multiple field sobriety tests. He measured a blood-alcohol content of .16 percent.
An Aiken woman reported a laptop and medication missing from her home on Fulmer Road on Thursday.
Deputies responded to an open door at a home on Briar Patch Lane in Warrenville on Thursday. They found no damage or signs of entry and secured the door.
Burglaries were reported on Hampton Avenue in Aiken on Wednesday and Robinson Street in Warrenville on Thursday.
