North Augusta Public Safety is asking for the public's help in identifying a man who robbed a Dollar General store Saturday.
At approximately 8:57 p.m., a black male wearing all black and a black stocking cap entered the Dollar General at 203 Edgefield Road, selected a candy bar and approached the register.
After paying for the candy bar, the clerk opened the register and the suspect reached across the counter and grabbed an undisclosed amount of money, according to Public Safety. There was a brief struggle between the cashier and the suspect prior to the suspect running out of the store.
The suspect got into the passenger side of a beige four-door sedan and the vehicle fled the area, last seen turning south onto Edgefield Road. The suspect is a black male in his early- to mid-20s, between 5-feet-7 and 5-feet-9 inches tall, and weighing 150-170 pounds, according to authorities.
Those with information about the incident are encouraged to call North Augusta Public Safety at 803-279-2121.
