Mr. and Mrs. Benny Jackson of Gloverville, S.C. are pleased to announce the engagement of their son, Matthew Stephen Jackson, to Carrie Elizabeth Cook, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Cook of Millen, Ga.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mrs. Edrenelle Johnston and the late Mr. Pat Johnson and the late Mr. and Mrs. Howard Cook all of Millen, Ga. Carrie is a graduate of Jenkins County High School. She graduated from Georgia Southern University, receiving a Bachelor’s of Science in Early Childhood Education and from Nova Southeastern University where she received a Master’s Degree. Carrie is currently a teacher at Jenkins County Elementary School.

The groom-elect is the grandson of Mrs. Alberta Bledsoe and the late Mr. Judson Jackson of Warrenville, S.C. and the late Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Byrum of New Ellenton, S.C. Matt is a graduate of Midland Valley High School. He received a Bachelor’s of Business Administration in Marketing at Francis Marion University. Matt is currently employed with Textron — EZ-GO Corp.

The wedding is planned for Oct. 26 at the home of the bride’s parents.
