ANNIVERSARY: Johnsons celebrate 50th anniversary

Cornelius and Cylestine Adams Johnson celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Aug. 25, 2013, at their residence with family and friends.

The Johnsons were married on Aug. 25, 1963 at Smyrna Baptist Church in the Kitchings Mill community of Aiken County.

The Johnsons have three sons, Cornelius Johnson III of Lexington, a production manager at Michelin Tire Company; Derek Johnson of Tulsa, Okla., a claims reinspector at State Farm Insurance Company; and Kevin Johnson of Aiken, a process operator at the NutraSweet Company in Augusta, Ga.

They have four grandchildren. Their oldest grandson Corey Johnson graduated from the Jesuit College Preparatory School of Dallas, Texas, in May. Corey is attending Stephen F. Austin University in eastern Texas. Their oldest granddaughter Madeline Johnson graduated with honors from Lexington High School in June. Madeline is attending Georgia Tech.
