Jerry Rudd of Aiken is a featured finalist for the South Carolina Commission for National and Community Service’s 2013 Innovation and Leadership Award.
Rudd has served as a member of the S.C. Commission since the United Way Association of South Carolina was first appointed as the Commission’s governing authority in 2008.
He was the chapter chair for the regional disaster preparedness and response team for the American Red Cross in the Central Savannah River Area of South Carolina. Additionally, he is a nationally recognized consultant and trainer on nonprofit management, fundraising, board development and social enterprise. He has more than 45 years of experience as both board and staff leader for local, regional and national nonprofits.
When he was appointed as a commissioner, he helped to drive an emphasis on outcomes, designed a rigorous new review process and has helped to insure accountability and transparency in the grants process.
