Katherine K. Hood of Columbia, SC, and Zachary L. West of Columbia, SC were married on April 21, 2013 at Magnolia Plantation and Gardens. The bride was given in marriage by her parents. The Rev. Doug Farmer officiated.
The bride is a daughter of Jay and Lynne Hood of Tampa, FL. She is the granddaughter of the late Ray and Gladys Maladowitz and Bill and Kathleen Hood.
The bridegroom is a son of Bill and Donelle West of Aiken. He is a grandson of the late Don and Pat Taylor and the late Nelma Taylor and the late Dave and Carolyn West and the late Ida West.
Kristie Sweeney of Baltimore, MD was the maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Jennifer Casto of Columbia, friend of the bride; Kortni Koutrakous of Columbia, friend of the bride; Erika Craighead of Columbia, friend of the bride; Lindsay Yenter of Los Angeles, CA, friend of the bride; and Aimee Smith of Akron, OH, sister of the groom.
Ross Philbeck of Aiken, SC, was the best man. Groomsmen were Chad Smith of Aiken, SC; Kevin Sweeney of Aiken, SC; Christopher Vine of Charleston, SC; Jon Mayer of Columbia, SC; and Jason Ouzts of Columbia, SC.
Following a reception at Magnolia Plantation and Gardens, the couple left for a wedding trip to Ocho Rios, Jamaica.
They will reside in Irmo, SC.
The bride is a 2006 graduate of Wando High School. She is a graduate of the University of South Carolina with a B.A. degree in Psychology and Ed.S. in Marriage and Family Counseling.
The bridegroom is a 2004 graduate of South Aiken High School. He is a graduate of the University of South Carolina with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He is employed by SCANA.
