James Brandon King
NEW ELLENTON, S.C. – James Brandon King, 74, of New Ellenton, SC went home to God on June 28, 2013.
Mr. King was born in Henderson, Kentucky, the devoted son of the late Winifred and Norman King and was also preceded in death by his infant son, Jimmy.
A former warehouse supervisor at companies in California and Ohio, he was employed by Cedar Creek Development Corporation after moving to the Aiken area.
Mr. King served in the U.S. Navy Air Corps where he spent his enlistment as a radioman with Patrol Squadron Sixteen. Following his discharge, he pursued his love of flying by becoming a licensed small-aircraft pilot.
He was a member of The Quest Church in Martinez, GA and was a volunteer for the Lydia Project.
Mr. King is survived by his wife, Elaine Carter-King and a sister, Lynda (Jerry) Platt of Aiken. He is also survived by two nieces, a nephew and four great-nephews.
A Life Celebration, with Military honors, will be held at The Quest Church 4020 Washington Rd. Martinez, GA 30907 on Sunday, July 14, 2013 at 1pm. The family will receive friends at the church, immediately after the service. South Carolina Cremation Society, Lexington, is assisting the family.
