Person pulled from burning home in Beech Island

An individual was pulled from a burning home in Beech Island on Thursday afternoon by the responding agencies.

The Aiken County Sheriff’s Office received a phone call at 5:42 p.m., from a neighbor, who saw the fire, said Capt. Eric Abdullah of the Sheriff’s Office.

The structure was fully involved when authorities arrived on the scene, according to reports. The mobile home was located on Indian Mound Drive in the Russell Hill subdivision, said authorities.

The Beech Island Fire Department, the Midland Valley Fire Department, Silver Bluff Fire Department and the Belvedere Fire Department were the agencies that responded to the incident scene. The dwelling has been heavily damaged, said authorities.

The investigation as to how the fire started is ongoing.

The victim was transported to Doctors Hospital of Augusta.
