Rebekah Katelyn Powell of Aiken and Nicholas Adam Cates of Graniteville were married May 4, 2013, at the Living History Park in North Augusta, SC. The bride was given in marriage by her father, Robert Powell. The Rev. Roy Morgan officiated.
The bride is a daughter of Robert and Susan Powell of Aiken, SC. She is a granddaughter of the late Edgar and Mary Taylor and Lorie Storey and the late Milledge Powell.
The bridegroom is a son of Gary and Kathy Cates of Graniteville, SC. He is a grandson of Edna Hill and the late Ellis Turner and Donald Cates and the late Ruby Cates.
Jennifer Powell, sister of the bride, of Aiken was the maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Kristy Taylor of Aiken, cousin of the bride; and Rachel Garner of Aiken, friend of the bride.
Jeremy Montgomery, friend of the groom, of North Hollywood, CA, was the best man. Groomsmen were Mark Standridge of Graniteville, SC, friend of the groom; and Drew Storck of Charleston, SC, friend of the groom.
Music was provided by Mrs. Stephanie Allen, harpist.
Following a reception at the Living History Park, North Augusta, SC, the couple left for a wedding trip on a cruise to Key West and Cozumel.
They will reside in Aiken.
The bride is a 2008 graduate of South Aiken High School. She is a graduate of Aiken Technical College with a degree in Computer Engineering Technology. She is employed by UPS Supply Chain Solutions.
The bridegroom is a 2007 graduate of Midland Valley High School. He is a graduate of Aiken Technical College with a degree in Computer Engineering Technology. He is employed by Areva Federal Services at the MOX Project.
