The Sunshine Garden Club lost one of its rays of sunshine recently, and and all the members and I are a little sadder for that loss.
I received word of the going Home of Donna Gibbs, and my heart is heavy. This is the second death of a friend of more than 30 years whom I have known from Aiken in the past week.
Donna was not only a lively and cherished member of the Sunshine Garden Club, but was also my neighbor when I lived in Aiken, and gave me so much encouragement when my son David died.
I was privileged to be made an honorary lifetime member of Sunshine when I moved to Beaufort, and tried to make it back for at least the Christmas gathering. Donna was always at her best.
I will miss my friend, and Sunshine will miss one of its best rays of sunshine. Heaven has a tricolor arrangement today in Donna Gibbs.
