NAMES AND NOTES: Violinist Crews wins first place at Talent Hunt

Sigma Pi Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Inc., comprising Aiken, Barnwell and Edgefield counties, recently held the 2013 Talent Hunt Competition.

Sixteen contestants representing home school, South Aiken Baptist Christian School, North Augusta High School, South Aiken High School, Wagener-Salley High School, Strom Thurmond High School and Aiken High School registered for the competition.

First place winner was R. Delany Crews II, a violinist who attends North Augusta High School who played “Concerto No. 6 in A minor, Op. 3, 1st movement.” He is an honor student, a member of the Beta Club, Future Business Leaders of America, school chorus and a member of the Regional Orchestra and Allstate Orchestra. He is son of Reginald D. Crews and Ordean L. Crews.
