A local restaurant was robbed early this morning and police are looking for the assailant.
At about 2:30 a.m., a man walked into the Huddle House on Richland Avenue and told employees he was armed, though he never presented a weapon, according to Sgt. Jake Mahoney with Aiken Public Safety.
The man left with an undisclosed amount of money from the cash register and fled the scene, Mahoney said.
One employee was struck in the mouth, but did not require transportation to any medical facility, Mahoney said.
The assailant was described as a black male wearing a dark gray hoodie, a red T-shirt and light gray sweatpants.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Crimestoppers of the Midlands at 888-CRIME-SC (888-274-6372). Callers may remain anonymous, and could be eligible to receive a cash reward of up to $1000.
