WEDDING: Padgett - Sturkie

Kasci Brooke Sturkie of New Holland and Jeffrey Ashton Padgett, Jr. of Fairview were married April 20, 2013 at Convent Baptist Church, Leesville, SC. The bride was given in marriage by her father, Christopher Sturkie. The Rev. Matthew Miller officiated.

The bride is a daughter of Christopher and Paula Sturkie of New Holland, SC. She is a granddaughter of Mr. James Mason of Aiken and Gloria Scott of New Holland and Mr. and Mrs. Allen Sturkie of New Holland.

The bridegroom is a son of Jeffrey Padgett, Sr. and Debbie Padgett of Fairview. He is a grandson of Gaynell Williamson and Robert Joyner and Hazel Padgett.

Logan Mason, cousin of the bride, of New Holland was the maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Cecilia Navarro, Brooke Whitaker, Marj Sliker, Kimberly Mason and Brittany Shumpert.

Mr. Jeffrey Padgett, father of the groom, of Fairview was the best man. Groomsmen were Brent Shumpert, David Shumpert, Matt Rush, Kyle Whetstone, Dean Whetstone and Clayton Sturkie, nephew of the bride.

Hayden Collum was the ringbearer. Ryleigh Desrocher and Layla Whetstone were the flower girls.

Following a reception at Edisto Pines, the couple left for a wedding trip to cruise the Caribbean.

They will reside in Fairview, SC.

The bride is a 2009 graduate of Wagener-Salley High School. She is a graduate of Midlands Technical College with a degree in Medical Assisting. She is employed by Palmetto Dermatology.

The bridegroom is a 2007 graduate of Pelion High School. He is a graduate of Aiken Tech and Midlands Tech. He is employed by the West Columbia Fire Department.
