Amanda Jane Burdette of Aiken and Kirk O’Neal Sheppard of Aiken were married Dec. 15, 2012 at Wesley United Methodist Church in Evans, GA. The bride was given in marriage by her father David Burdette. The Rev. Greg Portefield officiated.
The bride is a daughter of David Burdette of Augusta and Kimberly Mock of Aiken. She is a granddaughter of Barbara Chandler and the late David Chandler and the late Blaine and Rosalie Burdette.
The bridegroom is a son of Johnny Sheppard of Aiken and Gail Vaughn of Aiken. He is a grandson of Oliver Owens and the late Rhonda Owens and Betty Sheppard and the late Curtis Sheppard.
Danielle Sheppard of Columbia, SC, was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Stephanie Deese of Graniteville, SC, friend; Jacqueline Tucker of Augusta, GA, stepsister; and Shannon Regan of Augusta, GA, stepsister.
Chris Sheppard of Aiken was the best man. Groomsmen were Steven Ryan of Aiken, friend; Phil Pomper of Aiken, friend; Kevin Jones of Aiken, friend; and Chad Cooper of Aiken, friend.
Hunter Britton of Aiken was the ringbearer. Kadence McClure of Aiken was the flower girl.
Following a reception at Enterprise Mill, Augusta, GA, the couple left for a wedding trip to Asheville, NC.
They will reside in Aiken, SC.
The bride is a 2005 graduate of South Aiken High School. She is a graduate of USC Aiken with a Master’s degree in Educational Technology. She is employed by the Aiken County School District.
The bridegroom is a 1997 graduate of Aiken High School. He is a graduate of University of South Carolina with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He is employed by the Army National Guard and is an intern with BP Cooper River, Charleston, SC.
