Katherine Beville McCormick, of Charleston, South Carolina, and Brett Alan Hubler, of Columbia, South Carolina, were married April 13, 2013, at St. Philip’s Church in Charleston. The Reverend John Haden McCormick and The Reverend Matthew Wright McCormick officiated the 6:30 p.m. ceremony. A reception followed at the Parish House.
The bride is the daughter of the Reverend and Mrs. John Haden McCormick, of Charleston, South Carolina. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. Jean Haden McCormick and the late Mr. John Townsend McCormick, of Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Julian Earle Fant, of Jacksonville, Florida.
Katherine graduated cum laude from Hollins University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in History. She earned a Masters in Business Administration from The Citadel and is the Mergers and Acquisitions Analyst for South Carolina Bank and Trust.
The groom is the son of Mrs. Edythe Loraine Hubler and the late Mr. True Alan Hubler, of Aiken, South Carolina. He is the grandson of Mrs. Dorothy Lou Hubler and the late Mr. Lynn Malcolm Hubler, of Gaithersburg, Maryland, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Lewis Rinehart, of Hagerstown, Maryland.
Brett graduated from Wake Forest University with Bachelor of Arts degrees in economics and communication. He graduated cum laude from the University of South Carolina School of Law and is Research Director of the South Carolina Senate Fish, Game and Forestry Committee.
Courtenay McCormick Fain, the bride’s sister, was the matron of honor. The bridesmaids were Rachel Marie Bright, Sarah Drysdale Broadwater, Alexandra Christy Cashman, Rebekah Wilder Drysdale, Elizabeth Fay Gouldon, Lisa Christian McCormick, Whitney Elizabeth Morrison, and Alice Curtin Thaxton. The flower girls were Sophia Raine McCormick and Ashlyn Elizabeth McCormick. The ring bearer was Taliaferro Rice Fain.
Stanford Lee Overby, Jr. was the best man. The groomsmen were Marion Giddings Brooks, Daniel MacLeod Fistere, Timothy Christopher Hayes, John Rutledge McCormick, Stephen Raley McCormick, Steven Michael Scutti, Jonathan Dat Thanh, William Paul Tinkler, and Thomas Wooten Traxler, Jr.
The ushers were Earl Fain IV and Brooks Townsend McCormick. Beville McCarthy Anderson and Jonathan Edward Schulz delivered the readings.
A rehearsal dinner was given by the groom’s family at the Carolina Yacht Club on April 12, 2013.
The couple will reside in Columbia, South Carolina.
