To the Masters Tournament — It's been another wonderful week at The Augusta National for the annual Masters Tournament. The golf tournament brings visitors from around the world to our area. The weather has been nice and the golf excellent.
To uncertainty with the MOX project — While Washington politicians continue their ongoing budget battles, the future of thousands of workers and millions of dollars is in limbo. It's hard to imagine the government would abandon a project it's spent billions on already. But, it did the same with Yucca Mountain.
To the Aiken Performing Arts Group — The nonprofit group is well-known for donating musical instruments to schools. Last week, the band director at L.B.C Middle School learned his school would be getting 10 instruments for the band and other schools will receive instruments as well.
To naughty politicians who don't know when to stop — Last week former U.S. Rep. Anthony Wiener, who resigned over a sexting scandal in 2011, announced he is considering a run for New York City mayor this year. When you do something so dumb you should give up your hopes of being a leader and role model.
To the gunman who took four firefighters hostage — A gunman who held four firefighters for hours Wednesday in a suburban Atlanta home was shot dead by SWAT members and all the hostages are slightly injured, but should be OK.
To the new “in” color — If you've been watching any of the Masters Tournament this week you've probably noticed that many of the golfers wearing bright green – some even had on almost the same shirt. Could this be the next fashion trend for men? Very nice.
