A 13-year-old middle school student was detained for disorderly conduct on Monday after he became disruptive during class and even started throwing object around the classroom, according to the Aiken Department of Public Safety.
The incident happened about 2:30 p.m. in a classroom at Aiken Middle School.
The suspect began to get disruptive in class and was going to be escorted from the classroom, according to the report. The suspect became more disruptive and began throwing things, including furniture, in the room, according to the report.
The teacher removed the other students from the room for their safety after the suspect began throwing objects, according to the report.
The suspect told officers he was “in a bad mood” and was “upset” about being removed from the classroom, according to the report. He also said he and another student were involved in a verbal altercation that escalated the incident.
