Rick Porter’s Fox Hill Farm’s multiple graded stakes winner and track record setter Joyful Victory and Michael Talla’s Grade 2 winner More Chocolate are among the entries for Saturday’s 76th running of the 1 1/8-mile Grade 1, $300,000 Santa Margarita Stakes at Santa Anita Park. Both horses were consigned and sold by Aiken’s Tim and Cary Frommer.

Joyful Victory is coming off a track record setting performance in her last start, winning the inaugural $400,000, 1 1/16-mile Houston Ladies Classic Stakes at Sam Houston Race Park by 4 1/4-lengths on Jan. 26. It was the fourth stakes victory for the 5-year-old Ontario-bred mare. The daughter of Grade 1 winner Tapit is conditioned by Larry Jones, and will carry 118 pounds, break from post position no. 3 in the 6 horse field, and jockey Rosie Napravnik will have the return call. Joyful Victory has 5 wins, 5 seconds and 3 thirds in 16 lifetime starts, and has earned $910,679.

Michael Talla’s More Chocolate, a winner of the 1 1/16-mile Grade 2 La Canada Stakes her last time out, will break from the extreme outside post and will also carry 118 pounds. The 4-year-old filly by Malibu Moon is conditioned by John Sadler, and jockey Martin Garcia will be in the irons.

David Ingordo, agent, purchased More Chocolate for $310,000, for Martin Anthony, from Cary Frommer, agent, at the 2011 Fasig-Tipton Two-Year-Olds in Training Florida Sale. More Chocolate’s dam is the multiple graded stakes winner Little Treasure (FR).
