Bowen crowned Miss Mardi Gras

Stephanie Bowen, widow of the late James Bowen, formerly of the Tri-Development Center and coordinator for Area 15 Special Olympics for a number of years, was recently crowned Miss Mardi Gras by Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc., Sigma Pi Chapter of Aiken. She will become Miss Omega in 2014. She is a licensed cosmetologist, a licensed agent for Primerica Financial Services, an independent beauty consultant for Mary Kay cosmetics and serves as Sunday school secretary, deaconess and president of marriage ministry for her church.

Omega Psi Phi, Inc. adopted the Mardi Gras as a symbol of brotherly love to all. Mardi Gras events have served as cohesive, cooperative ventures which have united and benefited the entire community.
