The Aiken High School Parent-Teacher-Student Organization finished up a successful series of fundraising events Friday – the second year of “My Aiken High Week.”

The events on Thursday included “A Taste of Italy” dinner prepared by the school’s culinary arts students. Music was provided by a school orchestral ensemble, led by Joe Laorenza, the retired Aiken High band director.

Afterwards, the high school’s Serteen Club hosted a talent show. That program raised funds that will be donated to the Boys & Girls Club.

The other activities throughout the week – including a “Junk in My Trunk” yard sale Friday – raised funds that will be used by the Parent-Teacher-Student-Organization for technology improvements at the school.

The talent show first place award went to an instrumental and vocal performance by Dan Fetterolf, Wesley Heaton, Keith Peterson and Allen Wilson.

Second place went SWAD Team Incorporated – a dance ensemble. Its performers included Denashia Bain, Kaitlyn Brown, Jocelyn Jones, Jasmine Jones, Tiffany Jones, Briante Perkins and Kendra Pigler. Dancers from the Burns Studio took third place – Sarah E. Davis, Lauren Grimm, McKenna Scott and Taylor Shelley.

Other performers were Kaitlyn Williamson, vocal; Abigail Miller, dramatic reading; Taylor Jenkins, vocal; Austin Pruiett and Dustin Snellings, instrumental; Christian Egbert, vocal; Michael Coleman, vocal; and a dance that featured six performers – Celine Downing, Shante Jackson, A’laya Nobles, Jai’Bria Quattlebaum, Leanne Summers and Mercedes Winters.
