DeVine column is ironic
Jack DeVine’s column on Feb. 25 concerning divisiveness is ironic in that it contributes to the mood about which it complains.
Why do Republicans continue trying to propagate the myth of “... a spectacularly unsuccessful first term...” by the president? Obamacare was a major feat – whether you agree with it or not. Preventing the Bush recession from becoming a full-blown depression, via the stimulus package, was a huge achievement, albeit at the cost of a large increase in the national debt, which, by the way, was a small price to pay when compared with a complete collapse of the economy. The division that DeVine complains about could be alleviated if the losers would accept the results of the last election. The voters have spoken.
