The War Between the States Lecture Series will continue at the Aiken County Historical Museum, 433 Newberry St. S.W., today at 7 p.m. David B. Thompson of Limestone College will perform Southern piano music that was played during the Civil War era. Among the pieces that will be featured are “General Lee’s Grand March” and “Major General Hampton’s Quickstep.” On Feb. 4, the speaker will be Charles Hilton. Hilton will tell the story of Confederate currency. The third and last part of this series will be Monday, Feb. 11, when the topic will be, “What happened on that date in 1865?” Kathy Benedetto is scheduled to sing songs of the period. The Aiken County Board of Education will dedicate the facility addition to the Busbee Corbett Elementary Middle School gymnasium today at 5 p.m. prior to the last home basketball game for the middle school.

There will be CPR and First Aid Training for the community Tuesday at 6 p.m. at the H. Odell Weeks Activities Center, 1700 Whiskey Road.
