The Women of Woodside organization hosts the WOW Cup golf fundraiser every year to benefit various local charities.
This year will be the sixth edition, and the net proceeds will benefit Christ Central Ministries' GED Program and The First Tee of Aiken.
The auction and reception, in which dinner and a cash bar will be provided, will be held at The Reserve Club on March 17 at 6 p.m. The tournament will be held at The Reserve Club and Woodside Plantation Country Club on March 18 at 9:30 a.m.
Lunch will be provided by Chick-fil-A, and Fatz Café will provide a light dinner after the tournament. The event is open to all golfers at a cost of $100 per player, with four players per team (Captain's Choice format.)
Past WOW Cup charities have been Aiken Area Council on Aging and Helping Hands in 2008, Habitat for Humanity in 2009, Area Churches Together Serving in 2010, the Cumbee Center to Assist Abused Persons in 2011 and Children's Place and The First Tee of Aiken in 2012.
The winning team has the WOW Cup trophy housed at their home club for the following year, as well as their names engraved on the accompanying plaque.
