Brittany Pennock Skiles of Columbia, South Carolina, and Lane Kenneth Cook of Columbia, South Carolina, were married December 15, 2012, in Rutledge Chapel on the Horseshoe at the University of South Carolina. The bride was given in marriage by her parents. The Rev. Carey Wayne Mills officiated.
The bride is a daughter of Samuel Skiles of Elizabethton, TN, and Pamela Skiles of Aiken, SC. She is a granddaughter of Carolyn Siegelman and the late Edward Lorincz and the late Harry and Betty Skiles.
The bridegroom is a son of Kenny and Tammy Cook of Aiken. He is a grandson of Marvin and Sarah Jones and the late Al and Ruth Cook.
Diana Skiles, sister of the bride, of Aiken was the maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Lorna Chandlee of Charlotte, NC, friend of the bride; Ashley Cook of Kokomo, Indiana, sister-in-law of the groom; Laura Hyatt of Lexington, SC, friend of the bride; Whitney McDonald of Aiken, friend of the bride; Sara Schmidt of Columbia, SC, friend of the bride; and Jean Skiles of Columbia, SC, sister-in-law of the bride. Junior bridesmaid was Madeline Sizemore of Augusta, Ga., cousin of the groom.
Marsh McCall of Boca Raton, Florida, was the best man. Groomsmen were Paul Cook of Kokomo, Indiana, brother of the groom; Tyler Cook of Florence, SC, brother of the groom; Travis Deason of Aiken, SC, friend of the groom; Carl Hall of Nashville, Tennessee, friend of the groom; David Low of Cayce, SC, friend of the groom; and Joey Nicodemus of Aiken, SC, friend of the groom; David Rowland of Mooresville, NC, friend of the groom. Junior groomsman was Chase Sizemore of Augusta, Ga., cousin of the groom.
Following a reception at Top of Carolina, the couple left for a wedding trip to Orlando, Florida, and Atlanta, Georgia. They will reside in Columbia.
The bride is a 2004 graduate of Aiken High School. She is a 2008 graduate of the University of South Carolina with a BA degree in Psychology. She is currently a student in the USC doctoral clinical-Community Psychology program.
The bridegroom is a 2005 graduate of Aiken High School. He is a 2008 graduate of the University of South Carolina with a BA degree in English and a 2010 graduate of the USC School of Law. He is employed by South Carolina Department of Employment and Workforce.
