Shepeard Community Blood Center will hold a blood drive from 3 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Aiken Mall Cinemas, 300 East Gate Drive. Donors will receive a free movie ticket.


The 21st annual Christmas in Hopelands event will run through Thursday closing Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. The park will be open from 6 to 9 p.m. nightly. Parking and shuttle service is available at Citizens Park, 1060 Banks Mill Road. For more information, call the City of Aiken Parks, Recreation & Tourism Department at 642-7631.

The Aiken Center for the Arts will be offering winter art day camps Wednesday through Friday and Jan. 2-4. The camps are open to children, ages K4 and up. Enrollment is on a daily basis allowing campers to choose the days and times they want to attend. Parents may also choose between full and half-day camps. Full-day camps run from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Morning camps run from 8:30 a.m. to noon and afternoon camps run from 12:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. Campers bring snacks and lunches, and the Arts Center provides all other supplies. Daily tuition is $60 for full-day camps and $40 for half-day camps. Arts Center members receive a 10 percent discount on all camps and classes. The Aiken Kiwanis Club meets each Thursday at 12:30 p.m. at the Cumberland Village breakfast room, 3335 Wise Creek Lane in Aiken. Each luncheon meeting features a guest speaker on topics of community interest. Kiwanis is a service club dedicated to helping children locally and globally.
