Kenneth ‘Big Guy’Starnes Sr.
NORTH AUGUSTA, S.C. – Mr. Kenneth Starnes Sr., 71, of North Augusta, SC, known by his friends as “Big Guy” beloved husband of fifty-one years to Mrs. Jeanette Cain Starnes, entered into rest on Saturday, December 1st, 2012. Born in York County, SC and a resident of Aiken County, SC, most of his life, he was a son of the late John Butler Starnes and the late Gladys M. Starnes Ferguson. He was a residential home builder for many years until failing health forced him to retire. Kenneth was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed fishing, playing poker and billiards. An avid Gamecock fan, he was often the last fan at Williams Brice….win or lose. Family members in addition to his wife and parents include, sons, Ken Starnes, Jr., (Michelle) and Kevin Starnes, (Christy) both of North Augusta, SC; daughter, Stacey Boatwright, (Gary) Clear-water, SC; sister, the late Gloria Jean Thrift, two half-brothers and two half-sisters and grandchildren, Khaki Starnes, Tori Starnes, Garret Boatwright, Cam Starnes, Tanner Starnes and Gage Boatwright. In accordance with his wishes, Kenneth will be cremated and a Celebration of Life Service will be held on Wednesday, December 5th, 2012, at 5 o’clock in the chapel of Hatcher Funeral Home & Cremation Service, with Mr. Swain Morris and Rev. Roy Kiser officiating. If so desired, memorials may be made to the charity of choice. Friends are welcome to call at the family residence and will be greeted by the family on Wednesday from 4 o’clock until the time of service at Hatcher Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Langley, SC.
