Pre-race packet pickup for runners in the Thanksgiving Turkey Trot 5K will be today at Aiken’s First Baptist Church on Chesterfield Street. The Turkey Trot is scheduled for 8 a.m. Thursday at Citizens Park off East Pine Log Road.

The Salley Chitlin’ Strut will be Saturday at the Chitlin’ Strut Festival Site at 230 Pine St. in Salley. The Strut will open with the Dean Swamp Lodge pancake breakfast from 7 to 10 a.m., chitlin plate sales from 8 a.m. until end of festival at the cooking building, all day helicopter rides and carnival games starting at 9 a.m., the Chitlin’ Strut Parade at 10 a.m. on Main Street, live music from the Root Doctors, pictures with Santa Claus, a car and bike show from 3 to 5 p.m., a hog calling contest at 3 p.m., the Strut Contest at 3:30 p.m., and more.
