Wants to stop road project
I am very concerned about the planned S.C. Department of Transportation project to widen Hitchcock Parkway.
This project will isolate our neighborhood of Houndslake North from the Country Club side. It will make the properties on White Marsh Road, Troon Way and Deerwood less valuable because the traffic will be so much closer. The same applies to properties on the north side abutting the road. Most importantly, in my opinion, it will desecrate a beautiful scenic drive and byway through Hitchcock Woods, the crown jewel of Aiken. We moved here for the rural character of the area. This will create the same urbanization that occurred on East Pine Log Road. I hope we can stop this project.
What can the residents do to stop this? How do we let the City Council know of our concern?
