Blanche Martin Conger of Aiken and Adam Forrest McCune of Chapel Hill, North Carolina, were married May 26, 2012, in the First Presbyterian Church of Augusta, Georgia. The bride was given in marriage by Doctor Preston DeWitt Conger Junior. The Rev. Doctor George William Roberston officiated.
The bride is a daughter of Doctor and Mrs. Preston DeWitt Conger Junior of Aiken. She is the granddaughter of the late Mr. Alfred Marshall Martin Junior and of Mrs. Blanche Martin Bryant, and of the late Doctor and Mrs. Preston DeWitt Conger Senior.
The bridegroom is a son of the Reverend and Mrs. Keith Michael McCune of Manila, Philippines. He is a grandson of the Reverend and Mrs. Henry A. Osborn and Doctor and Mrs. Frederick Kenneth McCune.
Ann Elizabeth Martin, a cousin of the bride, of Atlanta, Georgia, was the maid of honor. Ana Tracey Morgan-Harrison of Iowa City, Iowa, a friend of the bride, was matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Teresa Lynn Jackson of St. Paul, Minnesota, a friend of the bride; and Sarah Joy Kornfield of Nashville, Tennessee, a friend of the bride.
Keith Michael McCune of Manila, Philippines, the father of the groom, was best man. Groomsmen were Grant Russell Allor of Wheaton, Illinois, a friend of the groom; Jonathan Thomas Coleman of New York, New York, a friend of the groom; and Chad Aron Voss of Seattle, Washington, a friend of the groom.
Preston DeWitt Conger III of Aiken, a brother of the bride, was the reader. Alfred Marshall Martin IV of Atlanta, Georgia, a cousin of the bride, was the usher.
Following a reception in the Augusta Country Club, the couple left for a wedding trip to Jamaica.
They will reside in Carrboro, North Carolina.
The bride is a 2003 graduate of Westminster Schools of Augusta. She is a graduate of Wheaton College in Illinois with a degree in ancient languages and English. She holds a M.A. in classics from the University of Virginia and is a Ph.D. candidate in classics at the University of Virginia.
The bridegroom is a graduate of Wheaton College, Illinois, with a degree in English. He holds a M.A. in English from the University of Virginia, and is a Ph.D. student in English at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
