American Red Cross Aiken County Chapter volunteers and staff are gearing up for the second Red Cross Roast and Toast fundraiser, and WSI-SRS will be a presenting sponsor of the event this year.
The Red Cross Roast and Toast will be held at the Big Red Barn at 187 Chime Bell Church Road on Nov. 3 from 7 to 10 p.m.
The Roast and Toast is a fundraiser in which an oyster roast, a lowcountry boil, beverages and live entertainment will be provided for approximately 300 attendees. The event will also include a silent auction with a variety of items donated from businesses and individuals in the community. Tickets are $45 each or $325 for a table of eight.
This is the second year WSI-SRS has offered to sponsor the fundraiser. The support from WSI-SRS will ensure that the Aiken County Chapter is able to fulfill the humanitarian mission of the Red Cross, said Lindsay Findley, executive director of the Aiken County chapter.
“WSI-SRS has been a strong ally for the American Red Cross in the last few years, and the Board of Directors and I could not be more pleased with our partnership,” said Findley. “Randy Garver and his team truly understand the importance of supporting the mission of the Red Cross. We are grateful that WSI-SRS took a leadership role by presenting us with our first sponsorship for this event.”
“The American Red Cross provides much needed assistance right here in our local community, and we are proud to partner with them in supporting this event,” said Randy Garver, WSI-SRS general manager. “The funds raised will help pay for meals, shelter and disaster relief for our friends and neighbors in time of need.”
WSI-SRS is a subsidiary of G4S-Government Solutions, the largest supplier of contract security services to federal facilities connected with nuclear programs and managed by the U.S. Department of Energy.
Corporations or individuals that are interested in joining WSI-SRS by sponsoring the Red Cross Roast and Toast should call Findley at 641-4152.
Tickets can be purchased at the American Red Cross Aiken County Chapter, 1314 Pine Log Road, or by calling 641-4152.
