Upperline entered in Spinster and Slamarama part of Bourbon field

Stone Farm, John Adger, Oakcrest Farm and Mike Stidham’s Upperline returns in Sunday’s 1 1/8-mile $500,000 Grade 1 Juddmonte Spinster Stakes over the Polytrack Elite surface at Keeneland. The multiple graded stakes winner drew post position no. 7 in the 13 horse field, is 12/1 on the morning-line, and will carry 124 pounds. The 5-year-old daughter of the 1995 Eclipse Award winning 2-Year-Old Male Maria’s Mon will have jockey James Graham in the irons, and is trained by Mike Stidham. Upperline was broken and trained in Aiken by Legacy Stable’s Brad Stauffer and Ron Stevens.

Upperline last worked at Arlington Park on Sept. 29, breezing 5-furlongs in 1 minute. Upperline is coming off a 7-week layoff. The bay mare has 8 wins, 5 seconds and 3 thirds from 23 starts, and has earnings of $647,988.

Dogwood Stable’s Slamarama returns in Sunday’s 1 1/16-mile $150,000 Grade 3 Bourbon Stakes at Keeneland. The juvenile colt drew the 11 hole for the turf race, will carry 118 pounds, and is 8/1 on the morning-line. Jockey Rosie Napravnik will have the return call on the Todd Pletcher charge.

The son of Grand Slam was impressive in his debut winning a 1 1/16-mile race on the turf by 1 1/4-lengths at Saratoga on Aug. 25. Slamarama last worked at Keeneland on Oct. 2, breezing a half-mile in 47 seconds. Slamarama was broken and trained in Aiken by Legacy Stable’s Brad Stauffer and Ron Stevens.
