Construction on the Laurens Street bridge continues, and S.C. Department of Transportation officials said work should be wrapping up soon.
SCDOT’s Jeff Terry said they hope the bridge is open by the end of this week. Terry said all that’s left is the paving the road, marking it and installing a guardrail.
Paving should commence in the next day or so depending on the weather.
After the bridge opens, there will still be crews in the area doing minor work, Terry said.
