Brenda Leticia Tejas of Aiken and Tommy Nicholas Hayes of Aiken were married Sept. 12, 2009, in Millbrook Baptist Church. The bride was given in marriage by her father. The Rev. Dr. Chris Masters officiated.
The bride is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. Arturo Tejas of Aiken. She is a granddaughter of Mrs. Paula Lopez and the late Cayetano Talamantes and Mr. Jose Tejas and the late Mrs. Ester Tejas.
The bridegroom is a son of Mr. and Mrs. David Hayes of Aiken. He is a grandson of Charles Dixon and the late Margie Dixon and Carolyn Dixon and the late Mr. and Mrs. Claude D. Hayes.
Mrs. Maria Samarripa of Long Beach, Calif., sister of the bride, was the maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Ms. Paula Nuñez of Aiken, cousin of the bride; Ms. Linda Flores of Trenton, friend of the bride; Ms. Jodi Smelser of Miami, Fla., friend of the bride; and Mrs. Jessica Alvarez of Miami, Fla., friend of the bride.
Mr. David Hayes of Aiken, father of the groom, was the best man. Groomsmen were Mr. Charles Dave Hayes of Aiken, brother of the groom; Mr. Kevin Lucas of Aiken, friend of the groom; Mr. Charlie Capps of North Augusta, friend of the groom; and Mr. Brandon Pattillo of Aiken, friend of the groom.
Eddie Armando Samarripa of Long Beach, Calif., was the ring bearer.
Flower girls were Angela Maisey Tejas of Aiken, daughter of the bride; Sophia Elena Samarripa of Long Beach, Calif., niece of the bride; and Beatriz Sara Nuñez of Aiken, niece of the bride.
Following a reception in the Misty Lake Hall in North Augusta, the couple left for a wedding trip to Buckridge Plantation in Orangeburg.
They will reside in South Miami Dade, Fla.
The bride is a graduate of Silver Bluff High School. She is employed by Absolute Consulting as a procedure writer for Florida Power and Light Nuclear Division.
The bridegroom is a graduate of Aiken High School. He is a graduate of USC Aiken with a degree in business administration. He is employed by Absolute Consulting as a procedure writer for Florida Power and Light Nuclear Division.
