Cortney Marie Poth and Scott Martin Neel, both of Columbia, were married June 6, 2009, at the Marriott Resort and Spa in Hilton Head Island. The bride was given in marriage by her parents. The Rev. James Koerber officiated.
The bride is a daughter of Dr. and Mrs. James Lowell Hagan of Aiken and Mr. and Mrs. Michael William Poth of Wagener. She is a granddaughter of Ms. Mary Roach and Mr. and Mrs. John Roach Sr. of Martinsburg, W.Va., and Mr. and Mrs. William Poth of Ponce Inlet, Fla.
The bridegroom is a son of Mr. and Mrs. James Robert Neel Sr. of Newberry. He is a grandson of Ms. Frances Boozer and the late Mr. Scott Boozer of Chappells and the late Mr. and Mrs. Gilder Neel of Newberry.
The bride is a graduate of South Aiken High School. She is a graduate of the University of South Carolina with a bachelor's degree in nursing. She is employed by Palmetto Health Richland in outpatient surgery.
The bridegroom is a graduate of Newberry Academy. He is a graduate of the University of South Carolina with a bachelor's degree in criminal justice. He is employed by the West Columbia Police Department.
Gloria Rouhani of Columbia was the maid of honor. Jennifer Fink of Aiken was the matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Nicole Munson of Martinsburg, W.Va.; McKena Divico of Havelock, N.C.; Megan Jones of Orlando, Fla.; and Christie Thrash of Columbia.
Mackenzie Hay of Evans, Ga., was the junior bridesmaid.
Bert Neel of Columbia was the best man. Groomsmen were Robert Kennedy of Columbia; Nate Beard of Newberry; Lee Cook of Lexington; Joe Cash of Chapin; Nick Williams of Columbia; and Neal Nelson of Columbia. Ushers were Seth Miller and Drew Miller, both of Aiken.
Logan Fink of Aiken was the ring bearer.
Evie and Ava Upton of Irmo were the flower girls.
Following a reception at the Marriott, the couple left for a wedding trip to Jamaica. They will reside in Columbia.
