On Friday, Nov. 5, Women United, an organization under the umbrella of the United Way of Aiken County, hosted its annual Inspiration Tea at the Aiken Electric Cooperative's Community Room on Highway 302. This was one of the Women United's fundraisers for the year. Guests also brought supplies such as socks and cleaning supplies to donate to shelters operated by the Cumbee Center to Assist Abused Persons, Mental Health America of Aiken County, Helping Hands and the Salvation Army of Aiken. The Inspiration Tea raised awareness of local shelters and the people they serve. The speakers included women who had been helped by Mental Health America’s Nurture Home and the Cumbee Center.
