Letters to the editor-2021

On April 29, 2022, a column written by Mr. Anthony DiStefano appeared in the Aiken Standard. The title was "Can we get out of this mess we're in?" In my opinion the title should have been a bit longer, Can we get out of this mess we're in, that the Democrats created?

He states that the "Democratic Party wants to solve all our problems and the Republican Party wants to do nothing about any of these problems."

He talks about climate change, the Ukraine war, Constitutional Convention, and free and fair elections.

He says there are some people who still believe climate change is a hoax. That's right, and for good reason. It is a hoax; it's all about money. The Democrats say that CO2 is bad and needs to be eliminated. They talk about reducing the carbon footprint, etc. The argument against this lunacy is called photosynthesis. Without this there is no plant life on the planet, ultimately no life at all. Carbon dioxide is a major component of photosynthesis. Currently the level of CO2 in this planet is about 400 ppm. Scientists agree that the level for maximum vegetation is about 1,400 ppm. We are experiencing the result trying to "transition away from fossil fuels."

The question is, to what are we transitioning? Currently there is no technology that can replace fossil fuels. That is without destroying our way of life. We need to speak out and stop these lunatics while we can. And the best way to start is in November and "vote the bums out."

The other topic I wanted to discuss was "free and fair elections." The only way to have free and fair elections is to ban mail-in ballots, except for absentee. States need to merge and purge their voter lists every six months. Stop handing out voter registration cards at the DMV and finally require valid, government-issued identification at the polls. These are not voter suppressions, these are common sense.
