The South Carolina Law Enforcement division has charged a teenager in connection to an October 2022 officer-involved shooting in Aiken County.

Robert McBride, 17, of Augusta was arrested and charged April 10 with four counts of attempted murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime in connection a shooting incident with police, according to SLED.

SLED was requested to investigate the shooting by the Aiken County Sheriff’s Office.

Aiken County arrest warrants state that on Oct. 28, 2022, McBride did willfully, unlawfully and with malice attempted to murder an Aiken County Sheriff’s Office deputies by shooting them on Storm Branch Road.

Another warrant states that McBride did willfully, unlawfully and intentionally possess a a Ruger Model LC9 semi-automatic pistol, 9mm Luger caliber at the age of 16. 

McBride is listed as an inmate at the Aiken County detention center and has no bond. His case will be prosecuted by the Second Judicial Circuit Solicitor's Office.
