Monica Jeffcoat has been appointed the new CEO of Helping Hands Inc. As the former director of residential services at Helping Hands, Jeffcoat succeeded Carmen Landy and assumed responsibilities Oct. 31.
“Helping Hands is excited to have Monica Jeffcoat as our new Chief Executive Officer,” said Board of Directors President Malcolm Smith. “Monica’s advanced education and extensive experience in the field of child welfare are perfectly suited to our mission.”
During her time as director of residential services, Jeffcoat has enhanced the quality of services provided to residents, staff, and the foster care community. Some of these services include improved staff training opportunities, in-house trainings for local foster parents, new hire training curriculum, a new client orientation manual and transition plans for youth ages 17 and up. This year, she received the One Person Can Make a Difference Award from PAFCAF 2022. She has also presented at Daniel Memorial National Independent Living Conference in 2021 and 2022.
“Fourteen of her 18 years of experience in the field have been at Helping Hands so she is intimately familiar with all aspects of our operation and staff,” said Smith. “We welcome Monica and look forward a bright future for Helping Hands under her leadership.”
Jeffcoat received a bachelor's degree in social work from Limestone College in 2011 and master's degree in social work from Edinboro University in Pennsylvania in 2014. She also received a nonprofit leadership certification from Francis Marion University.
