'Equitrekking' to air in the U.K., Ireland in 2012
"Equitrekking," the Emmy Award-winning travel series that can be seen on PBS, will be broadcast in the United Kingdom and Ireland and will start airing on Jan. 2 on Horse and Country TV.
Several episodes featuring Botswana are being edited for broadcast this summer, said Darley Newman, "Equitrekking" host and co-producer.
"I'm very excited that the show will be broadcast in the U.K. and Ireland," said Newman, in a phone interview Tuesday afternoon. "We profile a lot of places in both Ireland and Great Britain. Viewers in those countries will also have an opportunity to see the episodes featuring the great ranches and national parks in the U.S. We're expanding all over the place."
The "Equitrekking" Holiday Gift Guide offers a number of different items that the show's crew members have come across during their travels.
"There are a number of neat items that we have in the Holiday Gift Guide from the National Cowgirl Hall of Fame in Ft. Worth," said Newman. "We have a kids-sized stuffed pony that they can actually get up on and ride. I got one for my niece."
