TalkBack for Dec. 25
Handicap spaces
The Aiken Department of Public Safety should issue tickets for those who park in handicap spaces who are not handicapped. You should also publish their phone number.
Employee's hope
To SRNS management, the recent communications and gift cards were time and money well spent. These actions provided a glimmer of hope for a long-time valuable employee. May we all be blessed and guided into the pending new year.
Help the living
It's nice that the URS Corp. donated $300,000 to friends of the Aiken Railroad Depot. But with the present economic situation, wouldn't it be better to use the money to feed families that can't find work or to feed, spay or neuter animals? We need to put living above buildings.
Global warming
There is no need to worry about global warming unless you care about people around the world living in deserts or polar bears or have grandchildren younger than 18.
Energy savings?
The government asked people to conserve energy but then they raise the rates because they don't sell enough. Where is the savings?
Clean Congress
We should try to clean up the corruption in our own Congress instead of worrying about Afghanistan. Our Congress has to be among the most corrupt in the whole world.
Dog, cat, horse
It seems the animal lovers' love is limited to dogs, cats and horses. Most others seem to be eaten.
Thanks
Thank you to Glaxo-Smith Kline for being a part of our lives at Aiken Elementary. What they did Thursday to bring Santa was wonderful. I appreciate the photographer from the Aiken Standard. It was a sight to behold.
Sheriff
Sheriff Hunt was hired to serve the county, and being a volunteer fire fighter is serving the county.
