TalkBack for Nov. 15
Obama's support
I see where people think that Obama inherited his low support numbers from Bush. So that means he also inherited the Noble Peace prize from Bush. His lack of support is coming from the wrong things he stands for and is doing to this country as a whole. So here is the change he promised.
Flu shot denied
I went to the health department for a swine flu shot and was denied. I am 70 and have lung disease. The CDC and health department are killing old folks.
Enforcing the law
I am very impressed with the sheriff's office's handling of a recent loud music complaint. The offenders were advised of a potential $1,000 fine if they continue. I also had a similar experience in which the sheriff's office woke a neighbor up at midnight to put the barking dog inside. It would seem that the deputies are much better trained in county ordinances than Public Safety officers are in City ordinances because the City seems to let each officer interpret the ordinances their way and not as written. This is very disturbing because there is no consistency. And why doesn't the City give out $1,000 fines for loud music?
Quality
In response to the comment on the use of the word "quality" as an adjective, my dictionary shows that it can, indeed, be used as an adjective (as in "quality time"). My pet peeve, though, is the use of the word "healthy" as an adverb (for example, "eat healthy"). "Healthy" is an adjective. You may eat a healthy diet, but then you would be eating healthily or healthfully.
Quality is an adjective according to Webster's Dictionary.
ACP donations
People should donate vintage clothing and accessories to the ACP. The playhouse works very hard to provide entertainment, and it is difficult for them to costume a large cast, especially when it is set in another time.
Design training
What is the exact training and certification of Aiken's Design Review Board. What formal training do they have to decided whether or not buildings are built.
