Erin Elizabeth Parks and Joshua Edward Stewart were married May 10, 2008, in Aiken at St. John's United Methodist Church. The bride was given in marriage by her father, Mr. Bennie Leggett Parks Jr. The Rev. Dr. George Howle and the Rev. Frederick Andrea III, Ph.D. officiated.
The bride is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bennie Leggett Parks Jr. of Aiken. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bennie Leggett Parks Sr. and Mr. William Esteal Russell and the late Mrs. William Esteal Russell.
The bridegroom is a son of Rep. and Mrs. James Edward Stewart Jr. of Aiken. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. James Edward Stewart Sr. and Mrs. Jacqueline Dunn Harlan and the late Mr. Robert Guy Dunn.
Miss Jennifer Parks and Miss Lindsey Parks were the maids of honor. Bridesmaids were Miss Bayne Brasel of Columbia, friend of the bride; Mrs. Whitten Chavis of Aiken, sister of the groom; Miss Meghan Clemmens of Charleston, friend of the bride; Mrs. Elizabeth Dukes of Rock Hill, friend of the bride; Miss Meredith Dukes of Arlington, Va., friend of the bride; Mrs. Stacy Leita of Aiken, friend of the bride; Miss Katie Murphy of Fort Worth, Texas, friend of the bride; and Miss Emily Roseberry of Spartanburg, friend of the bride. Miss Rachel Silver and Miss Sophia Silver, both cousins of the bride, were junior bridesmaids.
Mr. Nathan Stewart, of Aiken, brother of the groom, was the best man. Groomsmen were Mr. Brad Chavis of Aiken, brother-in-law of the groom; Mr. Chad Copeland of Columbia, friend of the groom; Mr. Ramey Fulmer of Aiken, friend of the groom; Mr. Jeremy Hutcheson of Fort Worth, Texas, friend of the groom; Mr. Chandler Martin of Aiken, friend of the groom; Mr. Ryan Martin of Aiken, friend of the groom; Mr. Chet Tyler of Aiken, friend of the groom; Mr. Todd Tyler of Nashville, Tenn., friend of the groom; and Mr. Stuart Johnson of Aiken, friend of the groom. Mr. Harrison Martin of Aiken, friend of the groom, was the junior groomsman.
Following a reception at Newberry Hall in Aiken, the couple left for a wedding trip to Costa Rica.
The bride is a graduate of South Aiken High School. She has a bachelor's degree in health science from Clemson University and her master's degree in physician assistant studies from Philadelphia University. She is employed by Dr. Ward Rogers and Dr. William Callaghan of Cardiovascular Associates of Augusta.
The bridegroom is a graduate of Aiken High School. He has a bachelor's degree in civil engineering from Clemson University and is a licensed professional engineer. He is part owner of J.E. Stewart Engineering Inc., and is employed by J.E. Stewart Builders Inc.
They will reside in Aiken.
