2 killed when moped hit from behind by SUV
SPARTANBURG -- Two people were killed when the moped they were riding on was hit from behind by a sports utility vehicle in Spartanburg County.
WYFF-TV of Spartanburg reports on its Web site Monday that the coroner's office has identified one victim as 50-year-old Connie Brown. The second victim, a man who was driving the moped early Sunday morning, has not been identified.
The driver of the SUV was uninjured.
Highway Patrol Lance Cpl. Kathy Hiles tells the Herald-Journal of Spartanburg that the moped caught fire after it was hit.
The Highway Patrol is investigating the wreck. No charges have been filed.
